Juicy J’s Never Sober Tour touched down at The Agora Theatre last night, and thanks to DJ Scholar, iLTHY, and everyone involved in putting it together for a good turn out and a successful show. The only disappointment was finding out Travi$ Scott would be a no show. Continue reading about the show after the break (pictures are at the bottom of the post). Video coming soon.
The night started with Cleveland rapper Ezzy hosting and getting the early crowd hype while some local DJ’s took their turns on the turntables; DJ KY, DJ D Henz, and DJ Scholar. The opening acts included T3 and Hustla Ambition. All of the artists held their own and put on a good show, but it seemed as if it was Three 6 Mafia member Juicy J and his older brother Project Pat who the crowd came to see. Project Pat ran through tracks such as “Cheese and Dope,” “Be a G,” and ended his dominant set with “Twerk Dat Ass.” Hype wasn’t even the word to describe the reaction of Juicy J first setting foot on stage.
He easily performed +20 tracks on the night and of those “Dark Horse,” “Bandz A Make Her Dance,” his verse on Future’s “Sh*t” remix, “23,” and “Bounce It” were included. A crowd favorite was the throwback hit “Stay Fly” which Juicy J claimed to be one of his favorite Three 6 Mafia tracks of all time. Taylor Gang’s Ty Dolla $ign also made a surprise appearance for the performance of “Paranoid.”
Who doesn’t know that Juicy J is a veteran rapper? Apparently a lot of fans because he took time to rant about how people think he just started rapping because of the recent success he’s had as an individual artist outside of Three 6 Mafia. Many times throughout the night he expressed his love for Cleveland and the support the city shows when he goes on tour. He also mentioned that he’s been in the rap game for over 20 years, but coming out to see inspired fans at his shows never gets old.
Finally, outside of performing songs and talking in-between them, Juicy J made some female fans happy by inviting a few randomly on stage to take selfies with. There was never a dull (or sober) moment all night. Pictures below!
