As you may or may not already know, J. Cole attended St. John’s University his freshman year way back in 2003. Originally choosing the school in the hopes of finding a record deal in The Big Apple, Cole majored in communications with a minor in business. While the artist did graduate with the honorable Summa Cuma Laude title and with a solid 3.82 GPA, he never received his degree from the school due to a never returned library book. After doing a show at his old school this past weekend, the school decided that they would waive the fee and present J. with his degree. He responded politely to the university’s gesture with “I’m gonna send this to my mom.”
It appears that the people have spoken, as a petition begins circulating around Europe to prevent Kanye West from headlining at the legendary Glastonbury Music Festival held each summer in England. A Norfolk native by the name of Neil Lonsdale started the petition, taking it Change.org and stating that the rapper is “an insult to music fans all over the world” and that festival goers “expect a certain level of entertainment.”The petition has already received more than 63,000 signatures since it was started just 3 days ago. Glastonbury Festival, which drew over 175,000 attendees last year alone, lasts for 5 days, and is mainly staffed by volunteers to raise money for different charitable causes. There’s currently no word on if the petition will spark any sort of change for the festival.
You can check out the petition for yourself by clicking here. Do you think Kanye West should be bumped from the festival’s lineup?

The Beatles originally set this record over 50 years ago in 1964. It appears that all those lines in his song “Legend” may be even more true than any of us had originally thought.
Long time producer Emile Haynie releases his debut album produced entirely by himself, which also features his vocals on a majority of the tracks. Haynie has production credits all over the music industry, including on Kid Cudi’s “Mr. Rager”, Bruno Mars’s “Gorilla” and “Locked Out Of Heaven”, and Neighbourhood’s “Afraid”. Haynie was even awarded a Grammy in 2010 for “Best Rap Album” for his work on Eminem’s infamous Recovery album. You can stream the 11-track project, which also features artists Nate Ruess, Lana Del Ray, and Andrew Wyatt, on Spotify below. You can also purchase the album on iTunes by clicking here.
