Rappers YG & Nipsey Hussle’s new song “FDT” or “F*ck Donald Trump” has been currently making some waves through social media, so much that the Secret Service has actually contacted YG’s record label. “They asked to see the lyrics on my album to see if I’m talking about Trump on my album, because if I’m talking about him on my album they’re going to try and take it off the shelves” states YG. Atlanta supergroup Bankroll Mafia released their self titled album today. With members like T.I, Young Thug, Shad Da God, London Jae, and Duke, they delivered a solid 16 track album. After releasing the new track on SoundCloud, Makonnen announced on Twitter that him and Lil B will be going on a joint tour together. Makonnen is preparing to celebrate his 27th birthday on Tuesday. Earlier today the OVO signee released three new songs, including a 10-minute track to his SoundCloud titled “I Remember Makonnen Freestyle.” The song recounts personal detail about his rise from a street dealer in Atlanta to getting signed by Drake and breaking out onto the national stage. Later in the day the rapper shared two more songs, titled “Stay With Me Tonight” and “Swimming In The Money.” Makonnen has promised his fans more “gifts” on his Twitter account so stay tuned to what he has to release next. As the whole Hip-hop community still mourns the loss of Phife Dawg, his team has released a tribute video for his new single “Nutshell”, which was premiered by Ebro on Apple Music. The production comes from the late great J Dilla. The clip is not a full tribute video, but it includes kind words from Phife’s peers on his legacy and what he meant to everybody around him. The single is on iTunes and half of the proceeds will go to the American Diabetes Associate and National Kidney Foundation. Watch the clip below.
Dr. Dre premiered a special J Dilla record “Gangsta Boogie” on Beats 1 Radio last night featuring Snoop Dogg and Kokane. It will appear on the long lost album from the 2000s, J Dillas The Diary. The album has a release date of April 15th.
